We were called to create a space to nourish and transform with each other.

We don’t feel as though we founded That Space even though, technically, we did. It feels more like a calling, something predestined we were guided to bring to life.

What we give and create in That Space is a deep heartfelt offering. It’s not ours to own, rather it’s ours to protect and amplify it to wherever it needs to go.

A chance meeting at conference found two souls dancing to two very different beats…

Serendipitous, yes. A likely pairing, no.

Something pulled us together when we met in the lobby of a business conference in 2013. It was like this weird, invisible force beyond our comprehension at the time, that drew us into each other’s paths that day. And it found us dancing to two very different beats in life and in energy levels.

Fast forward 9 years and there’s not much territory of any dance floor of any description that we haven’t covered together.

  • An Advanced Dr Joe Dispenza Meditation Retreat

  • Advanced Psych-k accreditation

  • Heart Coherence practitioner training

  • Trauma training

  • YTT (in 3 different variations of Yoga)

  • A masters degree

On top of all of that, we’ve added two more kids to the mix (making five between us) and boom: here we are! Our lives are now inextricably linked with an unconditional love for one another beyond our conscious understanding.

The energy that first drew us together has just grown stronger and stronger with every shared experience. And we’re so flipping excited to be the custodians of That Space and we’re positively buzzing to see how she manifests.

  • There are some people who could hear you speak 1000 words and still not understand you. And then there are others who will understand without you even speaking a word.

5 questions with Kate

  • Ohhhh anyone who knows me well knows Keith Urban has to go first here but my music taste is SUPER eclectic. Everything from the Foofighters to Taylor Swift to Martika to pretty much all Aussie rock, to Pink to Ed Sheeran to Andy Grammar to Nirvana to Coldplay and well I could go on fooooorrrrrever. I love love love live music, festivals, and especially live acoustic versions of my favourites.

  • This still (at 46 years of age) has to go to Harry Potter simply because I read that series I think 3 times because I enjoyed it so much (also love the movies and I have my kids right into them too!) Loved the Twilight books (much more than the movies) and I do love a good fun romance like Marian Keyes or Jane Green. Back in my 20’s I read the EVERYTHING James Patterson released. I cannot believe that the Cross novels are STILL GOING.

  • Oohhhh ok. It blows my mind that this question is easy for me right now. maybe a month ago I would have found this really difficult because I love them all so much and dance between 4 or 5 books at any one time but right now - Danielle Laporte. Her new book ‘How to be Loving’ is her best work yet and it is opening me up in ways that nothing else has. Divinely beautiful.

  • ohhh Im going to save my REALLY special stories for our fireside chats at our member retreats… hmmm Im going to have to say when my higher self/intuition jumps in and starts a conversation with me while Im journalling. Always love those chats.

5 questions with Kristie

  • I can’t go past live jazz.

  • well, this is a tough one since I devour a new fiction book every couple of days. I’ve read the whole Bosch series by Michael Connelly, I’ve read all of John Grisham’s books, all of Marian Keyes, Cathy Kelly, Liane Moriarty, Sophie Kinsella and JP Delaney’s titles and I’m always on the hunt for a new series to dive into!

  • my whole life I have struggled to answer the good ‘ole ‘your favourite…’ questions. My favourite food? No idea! Changes depending on the day. Favourite colour? Are you serious? Ok then, it’s the ever-changing colour of the sunset. Or is it a lovely deep green, or maybe the colour of the ocean *crinkly thinking face*.

Anyway, back to the question at hand, it might be easier if I just share the podcasts I listen to at the moment: 10% happier by Dan Harris, Mamamia Out Loud, Making Sense with Sam Harris, Happy Families with Dr Justin Coulson, Insights at the Edge with Tami Simson, Better Than Yesterday by Osher Gunsberg, The Rich Roll Podcast, No Filter with Mia Freedman, Scott Barry Kaufman’s The Psychology Podcast, The Erotic Philosopher with Cyndi Darnell, Ladies, We Need to Talk, Where Should We Begin with Esther Perel and more.

  • my favourite rituals are the ones that unfold on their own terms because they’re so aligned with your values that they feel easy and natural to integrate. In fact, if any rituals feel ‘hard’ or if I’m feeling like I’m forcing myself I usually take a step back and interrogate it with a curious mind until I find the point of resistance. Then, I may realise that the ritual I’m trying to incorporate either isn’t a good fit for me, or that it needs to be modified somehow. In my younger years I approached my life and myself with a lot of force but I’m much gentler now.

  • One that I’m really mulling over at the moment is the serenity prayer.
